☀️Light-Life🌿 🟢Monthly reflection for the members of the Movement in English 🟢

Last weekend we celebrated the 48th General Convention of the Light-Life Movement in Częstochowa. As always, it is a great feast of the whole Movement. Please God, in the future, the presence of English-speaking members and representatives of the communities worldwide will join in greater number. Until then, our online celebration of unity remains the only way where the internationality of our charism is emphasized. I will remind you in this reflection about this event in due time, but you can mark it in your calendars, 20th May. In the Movement since the mid 70, we have been implementing a parallel formation cycle. First applicable to the type of community within the Light-Life Movement (children, youth, adults, married couples, priests and consecrated persons) and second, it overlaps all those groups. This year our formation theme will be ‘The Living Church’. The vision of the living church is fundamental to understanding both the work of Fr Blachnicki and the charism of the Movement expressed in particular parts or branches. I hope that this coming year will help us to deepen this understanding, which is crucial to undertake the task of the inculturation of the Movement into the local churches. As a conclusion, I want to quote part of the testament where Fr Blachnicki shares his vision of the Living Church, naming the greatest gifts of his life. The Living Church is the second greatest gift of his life.

“The gift of the vision of the "living Church" as an all-out program of life and action. As part of this, the gift of second theological studies should be mentioned - with my theses: bachelor's, doctoral, and habilitation. Nothing for the acquisition of knowledge for the sake of knowledge or degrees but rather to encourage deepening and confront the beginning of a maturing vision in a natural way, in turn posing problems and questions.

After that, I never felt the need to "correct", or supplement the results of these studies - but they entered (their) program for the rest of my life.

Connected to this is the second main gift, a particular gift: the gift of the Second Vatican Council and its vision of the Church - Communio. Absorbing that vision and putting it at the core of action! This work is incorporated in the charism of the Light-Life Movement, the Living Church movement, "Vatican II ecclesiology translated into the language of a certain movement and action" (card. Karol Wojtyła). Somehow since 1963 (the first Oasis of the Immaculate in Szlachtowa) it lasts in me - it does not change, only mature, it grows organically - this strange "entelechy", as if controlling me from the inside - the vision of the Church - becoming a living Church through incarnation in obtaining. The years 1969-1981 were a period of the extraordinary development of the Movement.” Fr Francis Blachnicki - Testament
